Low Salicylate/Amine Diet

For me, the most important and exciting addition to dietary control of asthma came through studies which reached a climax in the publication of the book "Friendly Foods". This is the dietary advice aimed at limiting foods rich in natural salicylates and the vasoactive amines. Salicylates occur in almost all fruits and vegetables and is one of nature’s preservatives. The amines may also occur naturally in foods but are also produced during cooking and add flavour to food.

Ask your doctor or dietitian for more information on this well documented diet.
